I had a trip up to Ripon last week – not specifically for a shoot, but I popped my little E-M10 Olympus in my bag (it doesn’t take up much room) just in case! The weather was a bit overcast, but it was quite nice for spring flowers, so I had a look at the daffodils at the cathedral.

While I was there, the sun popped out and there was a patch of blue sky for a short time, which was a bonus!
I thought I’d have a walk round to Spa Gardens to see how the spring flowers looked there – but the light went a bit gloomy and it wasn’t great, so I had a close look at the Alice In Wonderland tree trunk sculpture, which is always fun…

In case you were wondering, there is a “Drink Me” bottle as well!
On the way back from the gardens I went along Firby Street, passing the community hospital. It’s in a rather fine listed former dispensary building…

I hopped on the 36 back to Harrogate on my way home, but was in the mood for photographing spring flowers, so I went in search of more in Valley Gardens. However, what stood out was the lovely old Magnesia Pump Room, with a hint of blossom in the trees…

I had a wander along The Stray before catching the bus back to Knaresborough where a nice crop daffodils caught my eye – though it’s difficult to photograph them without relentless traffic in the background!

As always, all the images are in the North Yorkshire gallery on the website.
