Last Week’s Shoot – Snow!

Despite the wintry weather I managed to get out to take some local photographs four days in a row last week!

I started on foot in Knaresborough with a few atmospheric images as the snow began to fall.

On the snowiest morning, the main roads were still clear so I headed to Ripon (by bus – despite the driver looking a bit bemused at me buying a day ticket when it was snowing!).  The sun came out in Ripon, so I was faced with blue sky – quite nice but I couldn’t help thinking the bright white sky and diffused light of the other images looked better…

I made my way across The Stray in rather windy conditions – beautiful to see the snow blowing in the wind, but it was bitterly cold!

Back at Knaresborough the Castle now had a deeper covering of snow.

My final shoot of the snowy week was a trip to Aldborough and Boroughbridge, where the Devil’s Arrows looked particularly impressive in the snow.

All of the shoots were undertaken by public transport – thanks to The Harrogate Bus Company for getting me there in the wintry conditions!
