Wild Garlic in Skipton Woods

I did a few Yorkshire spring woodland shoots last year for the Woodland Trust and was so impressed with the wild garlic in Skipton Castle Woods that I decided to return this year for another look.

I wasn’t disappointed with a fantastic crop of flowers this year which were just about at their peak on my visit and looked lovely under the soft diffused light of the overcast day that I had chosen for the shoot.

The area around the main path by the bridge at the bottom of Sougha Gill proved to be the best for photographic opportunities on the day with fabulous reflections in the still water by the path.

After the shoot, one of the benches under the trees made a nice spot to sit and eat lunch and just enjoy the surroundings before the walk back to the railway station.
