About the location
The Pump Room dates back to 1842 and originally sold glasses of the sulphurous spa water to visitors! The building now houses a museum depicting the story of Harrogate and its fashionable spa. The unusual octagonal stone rotunda along with its 1913 glazed extension is a grade II* listed building. The Royal Pump Room first opened as the town’s museum in 1953. In the Royal Pump Room Museum card it can be seen from the entrance to nearby Valley Gardens.
