About the location
Our Ripon Cathedral greetings card depicts the historic Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Wilfrid, more commonly known simply as Ripon Cathedral. The building today is the fourth church to have stood on the site. The earliest stone church on the site was founded in 672 by St Wilfrid, who was buried near the high altar in this early church. The current building is in Early English Gothic style, with some Romanesque features and it is a Grade I listed building. The greetings card depicts the approach to the south transept.
