About the location

Knaresborough Castle dates back to c1100 and is perched on the crag top overlooking the River Nidd in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.  The castle was improved by King John and Edward I and finally completed by Edward II, including the keep, or King’s Tower as it is now known, which you can see in The Knaresborough Castle in Spring greetings card.  The castle was mostly dismantled in 1648, following the Civil War, and many of the town centre buildings are made of castle stone!  Today it is a scheduled monument and a popular visitor destination.

For an alternate view of the castle, see the King’s Tower Knaresborough Castle greetings card.
