About the location
This fine old building at the corner of Parliament Street and Montpellier Parade houses the Harrogate Bettys tea rooms. Founded by Swiss confectioner Fredrick Belmont in 1919, Bettys is a popular Montpellier Quarter cafe to this day. The building itself is in Scottish baronial style and dates from c1900. In the Harrogate Bettys greetings card the building is viewed from right on the street corner looking up at the clock tower.
